ASWF Open Source Forum 2025: Open Source and New Technologies Impacting Studios

ASWF Open Source Forum 2025It’s not too late to register for the Academy Software Foundation’s (ASWF) annual Open Source Forum, happening on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at Walt Disney Animation Studios in Burbank, CA. This half-day event is a fantastic opportunity for professionals in the motion picture and media industries to come together, share insights, and discuss the future of open-source software and new technologies impacting studios. 

Open Source Forum 2025 features a new format to better enable open dialogue and interactive discussion. The theme of the event is “Open Source and New Technologies Impacting Studios.” The Forum kicks off with several presentations around emerging technologies impacting studios and open source opportunities, followed by an in-person only moderated discussion to dive deeper into these topics. We’ll wrap up with our well-known “Beers of a Feather” reception.

  • Model Openness Framework: Matt White, GM of AI and Executive Director of PyTorch Foundation at The Linux Foundation
