Members of the USD community took time over the holidays to participate in the second annual USDZ Bake Off. Hosted by the ASWF USD Working Group, the Bake Off invited participants to bake something and then turn it into a USD file. The winners receive vouchers to the ASWF Swag Store.

Baker’s Choice Award: Russell Boorman, Christmas cookies
“I made these Christmas cookies for gifts this year for family and friends. It was a baking frenzy to get all these made in one night.” – Russell Boorman, Monocle 3D
Community Award: Cole Clifford, gingerbread house
“This was the first gingerbread house we made with my 18 month old daughter. The missing doorknob and roof decoration were casualties of a new found love of candy, and smeared icing was relocated onto her face. All around an awesome and messy memory to capture!” – Cole Clifford, Pickford
Baker’s Apprentice Award: Felix Herbst, snowman and gingerbread house
“This was a family project! Our seven-year-old daughter made the snowman and gingerbread house. My wife Minh and I added the OpenUSD logos on the front and back. What’s awesome is that our daughter already knew the logos – I think 3D formats happen to be an unusually common topic in our household. She was only slightly annoyed at the new decoration for the house’s roof.” – Felix Herbst, Needle
